Biography
Growing up in Mexico, Maine, I first became aware of the guitar at an early age. When I was around four years old I had a reoccurring nightmare centered on an acoustic guitar. But I overcame my fear of the guitar by watching and listening to my uncle Frankie and family friend Spike Theriault play their guitars.
In high school, I was part of a rock band that played for school dances, playing hits of the day by musical groups like The Kinks and The Beatles.
While in college, my roommate Rex Fowler (Aztec Two Step) and I got together with a couple other guys and started the band Second Phloor. We were a semi-successful college band in Northern Maine in the early days of modern rock and roll. After we all went our separate musical ways, I started performing as a solo act. I also started listening to more singer songwriter music such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and James Taylor; I especially liked the guitar work of Leo Kottke and Chet Atkins. The more I listened to them the more I tried to copy their guitar style and technique, and in doing so, hopefully I have put my little spin into the mix.
Presently I am still performing throughout
New England and wherever my guitar takes me. I also teach guitar at the Fiddleheads Center for the Arts in New Gloucester, Maine.
     In the fall of 2002
I was one of seven guitarist featured on the Seacoast Guitar Society Fingerstyle guitar cd entitled Seacoast Guitarist Vol. 1. I have also recently released my third cd on the Outer Green Label entitled Riverwatch, and have started working in the studio on my next recordings.
